Male cicadas produce their song by vibrating link special organs in their abdomens called tymbals, which are layered plates made of a springy, elastic protein called resilin. The sound the tymbals make when they vibrate is link amplified by link the cicada's hollow abdomen, and can reach a volume of over 100 decibels – that's about as loud as movie theater loudspeakers and just a few decibels shy of a rock concert.

My one gripe — although this was always present link on the 5177 — is the date window. I don’t mind it link as much on the guilloché versions, as the sideways Roman "III" next to it marks a clear separation. On the enamel versions, however, I cannot help but see link a three-digit number.
